If you’re looking for the next thing to fan-girl over, I have two words for you: Heartthrob brothers. Aka a boy band of brothers all grown up, ready to take on the world again with a reunion concert. Sound hot? USA Today bestselling author LuAnn McLane is here to tell us how she dreamed up her own tasty boy band in her new Heartthrob series. The first book, All I Ever Wanted, is out now! (You know you want it.)

Until I began writing the synopsis for the Heartthrob series, I didn’t really think about the fact that boy bands must always have a certain chemistry that both sets the members apart and binds them together. My research revealed five diverse personality traits that boy bands must have to become successful. This concept, whether the members are actual brothers, such as The Osmond Brothers, The Jackson Five, The Jonas Brothers, (Heartthrob, my fictional boy band) or bands created by record labels or reality show contests, is tried and true formula that never fails. The music cans be amazing, the dancing spot on, but without this chemistry, the bands can’t reach superstardom. And did I mention how fun they are? Think about your favorite boy band and I bet you’ll agree.

The first personality that girls go ga-ga for is the oh-so-popular bad boy. The bad boy is the one with the cool hair and the meaningful, sultry stare. Smiles are rare but powerful. Think, AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys, Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB. Who is your favorite boy band bad boy?

No boy band would be completed without the funny guy. With all the drama in a boy band, the jokester lightens things up with a goofy look at the camera, a prank and a ready smile that charms the fans. Think, Joey Fatone of NSYNC, Peter Tork of the Monkees. A great sense of humor is very sexy.

The cute, shy boy band type might be rather silent, but is still a fan favorite. This rather innocent member might prefer the background but still gets plenty of attention without even trying. Think, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. Davy Jones of the Monkees. This cutie pie makes girls sigh.

The quiet, older brother/boy next door is another trait boy bands incorporate into the mix. This boy band hottie has an air of mystery that make girls go wild. Think Liam Payne from One Direction. Kevin Richardson from Backstreet Boys. This boy band sweetheart is often the backbone of the group and the most likeable.

Oh… and then we have the lead singer and ultimate super-hot heartthrob. This boy band personality takes center stage and commands attention simply because he is… there. Think Paul McCartney of the Beatles, Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC. No boy band would be successful without the hotter than hellfire heartthrob.

I kept this formula in mind while brainstorming the Heartthrob series. I was fascinated by the concept of what happens boy bands after the glory days are over. And then, while writing the synopsis, Backstreet Boys landed a gig in Vegas. NKOTB went on a successful tour. So, this recent resurgence of former famous boy bands gave me confidence to write about these heartthrobs after they are out of the limelight… and then make a comeback. And guess what? Girls (now ladies) still scream for them!

ABC launched a singing competition called simply Boy Band in an effort to put together the next boy band sensation because right at the moment, there is a boy band void. And let’s face it, every generation of teenyboppers deserve to have their own boy band heartthrobs to swoon over.

So, without further ado, meet the sexy Heart brothers from the Heartthrob series:

Meet the sexy Heart brothers:

Grady Heart: Grady, the oldest, is the broody, bad boy of the brothers. Tall and athletic, with dark, shaggy hair and piercing blue eyes, he makes girls swoon with just one look. His smile is rare and his ways are wild, but like all bad boys when they fall in love they fall hard and Grady is no exception to the rule.

Oliver Heart: Oliver, the youngest, is the hotter than hellfire brother. Tall and muscular, with perfectly tousled hair and deep brown eyes, he stops girls in their tracks and he knows it. He’s a lady’s man, a total flirt just waiting for the right girl to tame him.

Jesse Heart: Jesse is the happy-go-lucky brother. Tall and lanky, with sandy blond hair and sky-blue eyes, he wins girls over with his comedic charm. It’s all fun and games until he falls in love with the woman of his dreams.

Jimmy Heart: Jimmy is Jesse’s fraternal twin, but unlike his brother, he’s the strong, silent type. Tall and athletic with long dark hair and warm brown eyes, he intrigues girls with his air of mystery. He lives a quiet life but longs for love and just might find it with the feisty girl next door.

Each one of the heart brother’s will get their own story, beginning with Grady in All I Ever Wanted. If you like boy bands, (and who doesn’t), then this series just might be for you!
