The ladies of the XOXO After Darkcast are THRILLED (ha ha) to welcome thriller and romantic suspense writer JT Ellison this week. We begin by discussing the appeal of suspense and thriller fiction (and reveal the fact that none of us are quite sure how to define these two similar subgenres), the “woman in jeopardy” trope, and all things dark and twisty.
Then we talk to JT, who not only explains the mystery/suspense/thriller distinction in one simple metaphor, but also regales us with stories of Nashville, her own writing traditions, and what it’s like working with another big-name author (JT co-writes the Brit in the FBI series with Catherine Coulter). And did we mention she does all of this from the car? So when we ask about her favorite road trip food it’s practically breaking news!
We wrap up our episode with a challenge: Abby, Lauren, and Guest Co-Host Diana try to name all of the “Girl” titles they can think of. Gone Girl, Girl on the Train…you get the idea. How many can you think of?
Happy listening, and remember–the best conversations happen after dark!

Five years ago, Aubrey lost her husband--and was the prime suspect in his murder trial, though they never found his body. She was acquitted, but instead of moving on, she's seeing him everywhere. But that's impossible...right? This dark and twisty book has an ending you'll never guess, and will have you flipping back to the beginning to see how Ellison did it!
