S&S asks you to #Read1Give1 for Literacy

We at XOXOAD think all book people are great, but today we’re pretty proud of our parent publisher, Simon and Schuster. This holiday season, they’re campaigning to “Give the Gift of Reading” to support local independent bookstores and Literacy Partners, whose mission is to strengthen families by empowering parents through education–and you can help.

If you’re purchasing a book from an independent bookstore, snap a picture of yourself with it in the store and post it on social media–Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever you use–with the hashtag #Read1Give1. For every eligible photo posted, S&S will donate a book to Literacy Partners, and you will have clearer skin and shinier hair because you did a good dead and helped someone else discover the joy of reading!

This program begins on Small Business Saturday (11/28) and runs right up through Christmas Eve (12/24), so go visit your local store! For complete details about the #Read1Give1 campaign, and about Literacy Partners, click here. And happy holidays!
