Today we’re thrilled to welcome author Emma Chase to share her favorite picks of the moment!  Emma’s sexy Tangled series is a runaway success…and book four, Tied, comes out on October 7th!

So, while you’re waiting for that to arrive, check out what other books Emma recommends, and then leave some recommendations of your own in our Comments section below!

I spend much of my days and almost all of my nights with my characters, but – my Kindle is on my phone – and where I go, my phone goes. So I’ve been lucky enough to squeeze in time for reading when riding in the car or waiting for my children during their extra-curricular activities.

Even though I write comedic contemporary romance, my first love as a reader is historical romance. There’s an enchanting consistency to historicals that I’ve always adored.

Here’s what’s been draining my phone battery power lately:

Stormy Persuasion, is the latest book in Johanna Lindsey’s Malory-Anderson Family Series. The Malory family has some of my all-time favorite characters – the men are all delightfully roguish and the ladies are as resourceful as they are beautiful. Stormy Persuasion is particularly entertaining because it focuses on the now-grown daughter of a beloved couple whose story was told in a previous book. It was wonderful to see how her romance unfolded, and to check in on familiar characters. It was like visiting old friends.

If you’re active on social media, then you’ve likely heard of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series, which debuted on the Starz channel this summer. I’d seen posts and heard the chatter, but I was reluctant to dive into the series because of my busy writing schedule.

And then…the wedding episode happened.

Having reached my word count for the day, I decided to reward myself by watching episode seven of Outlander. After just that one hour…I was a goner! I sped through Book 1 and am hooked on the tv series. Outlander tells the epic story of Claire Randall a 1940’s military nurse who is swept back in time to Scotland in the 1700’s. It’s a story of adventure, intrigue, heartache and romance. Watching the Outlander television series or reading a chapter from book two, Dragonfly in Amber,is now my daily writing reward. Although I’ve been very good about keeping to my schedule so far…if my manuscript is late it’ll be Jamie Fraser’s fault.

Finally, I’m a big re-reader. When time is short (always) but I’m in the mood for a quick chuckle or swoon, Julie Garwood’s Highlands’ Lairds Series is my go-to read. Apparently I have a thing for men in kilts (note to self: perfect Christmas present for the hubby). The series revolves around two Scottish leaders who are gruff, hard warriors on the outside, but tender and loving when it comes to the beautiful English ladies who captivate them. These charming books always leave me feeling happy – which is the perfect state to be in when sitting down to write into the wee hours of the night ;).
